Government Funding to help with fees.

Our Preschool is registered with Devon County Council to offer the EYF (Early Years Funding)) to 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds.

As per government and Devon County Council guidelines Bearfoot Preschool charges for additional services that are beyond the standard day-care nursery or preschool provision. This is the voluntary Outdoor Resource Fund payment which enables us to provide high quality outdoor education for our children. Primarily the Outdoor Resource Fund enables us to maintain high adult to child ratios /provide a high proportion of qualified teachers as staff / provide qualified Forest School practitioners.

If a parent already uses EYF to pay another provider, they may use any left over funding to pay part of their child's fees at Bearfoot Preschool.

Funding for 2 year olds

Some parents will be sent invitations asking them to check if they are eligible for a funded place for their two year old. If you do not get an invitation you can still check if you are eligible on the Citizen Portal.

Bearfoot Outdoor Preschool is registered with Devon County Council to offer the Early Years Funding to 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds.

As per government and Devon County Council guidelines Bearfoot Preschool charges for additional services that are beyond the standard day-care nursery or preschool provision.

This voluntary and vital Outdoor Resource Fund payment enables us to provide high quality outdoor education for our children. Primarily this fund enables us to maintain high adult to child ratios, employ a high proportion of qualified teachers as staff, employ qualified Forest school practitioners and highly skilled staff.

If a parent uses Early Years Funding they will be invoiced for a voluntary payment of

3+ Year olds- £6 per full day and £3 per half day

2 Year olds or non funded children £3 per day towards their child's care.

If a parent already uses EYF to pay another provider, they may use any left over funding to pay part of their child's fees at Bearfoot Preschool.

We strive to keep this payment as low as we can in order to keep our provision accessible to families across Bideford/Barnstaple areas whilst still providing the highest possible standards for your children.
