Forest School
What is Forest School?
Forest School is based on the ethos of children exploring and learning using their natural environment. Everything has a hands on approach and the children are encouraged to use tools, investigate the natural environment, learn about the wildlife and create campfires. We aim to provide a fun packed day, in an exciting environment.
What happens during a session?
The children are free to choose how to spend their time. Ideas and resources will be provided and there will always be activities going on such as walks using our 'owl eyes'. There will be tools on offer but they will always be used under adult supervision. We light a camp fire which provides a good opportunity to discuss fire safety as well as giving us the resources to offer some yummy treats such as hot chocolate. Other activities on offer will be den building, jewellery making, insect dens, bug hunting, natural artwork, whittling and much, much more. We encourage children to work together and always come together at the end of the day for hot chocolate and a chat.
Where?
We have the use of a fantastic woodland area within Barnwood Bears and extensive grounds at The Big Sheep.
